Registration of SERVICES 2009

For a participant who pays ICWS 2009 registration, he/she can:
-obtain a copy of the ICWS 2009 proceedings;
-participate in all ICWS 2009 sessions and all SERVICES 2009 (Part I) sessions (including SOA Industry Summit), (except the 5 Tutorials and Summer School on Services Computing);
-obtain one banquet ticket;

For a participant who pays SERVICES 2009 (Part 1) registration, he/she can:
-obtain a copy of the SERVICES 2009 proceedings;
-participate in all ICWS 2009 sessions and all SERVICES 2009 (Part I) sessions (including SOA Industry Summit), (except the 5 Tutorials and Summer School on Services Computing);
-obtain one banquet ticket;

For a participant who wants to register Tutorial(s), he/she must first register ICWS/SERVICES 2009, and then pay the tutorial fee for each registered tutorial. He/she can:
-obtain a copy of the proceedings for the registered conference;
-participate in all ICWS sessions and SERVICES 2009 (Part I) sessions (including SOA Industry Summit), and (only) the tutorials registered;
-obtain one banquet ticket;

For a participant who registers SOA Industry Summit, he/she can:
-obtain a copy of the SERVICES 2009 proceedings;
-participate in all ICWS sessions and SERVICES 2009 (Part I) sessions (including SOA Industry Summit) (Except the 5 Tutorials and Summer School on Services Computing);
-obtain one banquet ticket;

Note: For participants/authors registered as non-author students, he/she can:
-participate in all ICWS sessions and SERVICES 2009 (Part I) sessions, and SOA Industry Summit (Except the 5 Tutorials and Summer School on Services Computing);
-one banquet ticket;

Note: For visa letter, please complete your registration   and then click the link "VISA Letter Request" on the top right corner of the registration table.

Each accepted paper REQUIRES at least one FULL registration, before the camera-ready manuscript can be included in the proceedings.There is no student rate for the author who is responsible for registration for his/her published paper. If you have more than one accepted paper, you have to register for each one individually. There is no discount if you have two or more papers accepted. You can find the registration fees as follows:

If you are looking for a visa letter for attending IEEE ICWS 2009/SERVICES 2009-I, please following the 2009 Conference Visa Letter Request Process .

Please follow the following procedure to register:

Go online to ICWS 2009 Online Registration System. After logging in, the online system allows you to select from two options:
  • online PayPal method: This method is powered by PayPal and you will be re-directed to PayPal (Pay directly from your PayPal balance or linked bank account. Or charge it to your credit card (Visa card, Master card, Discover card, American Express card)) to finish your registration process.
  • offline payment method: This method will allow you to print out the registration form from the online registration system, choose from check or credit card payment option, and then fax/mail/email the signed registration form, which will be manually handled by PayPal's credit card processing system. (PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PRINT ALL INFORMATION CLEARLY TO AVOID FROM ANY DELAY.)
  • There will be no wire transfer option for non-author participants.
  • If you decide to send in a check, please make sure that it is payable to "IEEE 2009 ICWS" and mail it to:

    • DeKalb, IL 60115
  • Before you send in your check, please email to us a scanned copy of your check for speeding up the process.
  • Wire transfer is available only to ICWS/SERVICES-I authors. Authors who intend to use wire transfer to register must send an email request to registration@servicescomputing.org with paper id, paper title, and paper authors. Please note that wire transfer registration amount has to add 3% to cover the bank wire transfer fee. (e.g., $600 registration fee has to transfer $618)

The registration process is explained as follows:

ICWS 2009 online registration process includes 3 major steps:

Step1_ICWS2009 (Authors only): This step supports author registration for:

  • Research Track Papers
  • Applications and Industry Track Papers
  • Poster Papers
  • Work-in-Progress Papers
(Note: other track papers and workshops please choose SERVICES-I to register.) Note: If you are an ICWS 2009 author, you should start from this step to register your paper. (All authors must complete this step.) If not (non-author participant), please go directly to Step2_ICWS2009.

Step2_ICWS2009 (Regular Participants only): This step supports non-author participant registration for ICWS 2009.

Step3_ICWS2009 (For both): This step supports registration to:
  • Tutorials
  • Services University Summer School
  • Innovation Show Case
  • Extra Proceedings, and
  • Extra Banquet ticket.

Information about PayPal Payment

As an eBay Company, PayPal provides the most popular online payment system. PayPal allows individual customer to send money or collect money online without any transaction fee.

An SERVICES 2009 participant who is new to PayPal is not required to create a PayPal account to complete the registration. You can go through an alternate checkout, and have the option to sign up afterwards. Please SELECT "No shipping required (online download, payment for a service, etc.)" when you provide your billing information on the shipping page.

An SERVICES 2009 participant who already has PayPal accounts can continue to enjoy the privileges of the accounts, such as payment history and integration with eBay Auctions, with the same checkout experience. You can get a FREE PayPal account at any time.

You can use eCheck via PayPal.  

Cancellations and Substitutions

Cancellations and substitutions are allowed. However, full registration fees will be charged unless a cancellation notice is sent in writing, and received or faxed on or before June 9th, 2009 to the registration chair of SERVICES 2009. All the registrations for published papers in the Proceedings of SERVICES 2009 cannot be cancelled.

A $150 handling fee will be applied to all canceled registrations. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after the deadline (06/09/2009). No-shows will be billed. Registration transfer is allowed. A letter on your company's letterhead is required from the original registrant stating the conditions of the substitution and the name of the replacement.

Conference Visa Letter Request Process

IEEE's guidelines for providing visa letters are as follows:

Visa letters will only be issued to

  • People the committee knows
  • Speakers/Presenters
  • Committee members
  • Attendees who have paid their registration fees in full and are not from one of the countries embargoed by the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control


Visa letters will state only the facts

  • Conference title, dates and location
  • That the requester has paid the required registration fee in full (Verify that the credit card clears before providing letter).
  • If he/she is either a committee member, speaker, or presenter
